About Crossroads
As a community church, Crossroads finds its significance within the community that God has placed us in. In this way, we understand that our identity does not primarily reside in denominational allegiance or internal structure. Rather, we identify ourselves as a fellowship of Christ-followers called and sent by God to minister within our local community. Furthermore, we realize that God’s work in our community extends far beyond what our local church can accomplish alone, and therefore we have come to value partnerships with other local ministries. It is for this reason that we are grateful for the relationship we have with the
North American Baptist Conference and with other local churches in our community.
Mission Statement
Crossroads Community Church seeks to be a community church that ministers at the intersection of the gospel and our culture by anticipating the needs of the next generation and relating the gospel to them. Psalm 78:6-7, “So the next generation would know...even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children and they would put their trust in God.”
In order to fulfill this mission, we purpose to uphold the importance of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-19) and the Great Commandments (Matthew 22:37-38) by committing ourselves to be missionaries in our community. Motivated by the missio Dei, the mission of God, we seek to be ambassadors for Christ, reconciling the world to God and representing his reign over all things. John 20:21, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
Our Values
1. We value faith that reflects an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. We value taking the gospel to our neighbors, our community and to the world.
3. We value youth recognizing that they are the next genearation of ambassadors for Christ.
Our Beliefs
We believe in one God, the Father, and in his Son, Jesus Christ, who along with the Father sent the Holy Spirit into the world. We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God teaching us that although man is created in the image of God, his sin has separated him from God. Only belief in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins can bring reconciliation to this relationship. We also believe that after Christ's crucifixion and resurrection, he ascended into heaven and will return someday to judge all men.
